The first hotel Albert Steigenberger purchased was on Baden-Baden in 1930. Since then the Steigenberger Hotel Group expanded vastly. Today Steigenberger owns 82 hotels worldwide, many of them located in Germany.
Albert Steigenberger and his son established groundbreaking new concepts in the hotel industry. Activities such as sport programs, as well as health and culture programs were conceptualized in the 1970s. The Steigenberger chain bought the college of hotel management located in Berchtesgaden in 1972. The group aimed to educate fresh talents on an advanced level for their own hotels and expanded their education program in the following decades by opening sub-companies and consultant services.
In the 1990s the German Railways invested in the Steigenberger group. Being a Steigenberger trademark the InterCity hotels are another option for premium hotels in German cities, such as Nuremberg.
Steigenberger stands for extravagance and exclusive design. All hotels are 5* hotels offering a broad range of high-class services and different room options for any kind of event. Sales-meetings or other incentive events are given a perfect luxurious setting.
